Taher (47) (‘He’) has more than 2 decades of experience as In-house counsel and company secretary. He was associated with various reputed multinational companies including Tata Group, H&M (India), Aramex (India), and Epic Group (Hong Kong), where he contributed his professional services in leadership positions and streamlined their internal processes, managed legal and compliance functions efficiently maintaining the highest level of ethics with outstanding performance record.
He is the winner of the Lex-Falcon Award, recognition for legal jurisprudence in the global industry for the year 2022, held in UAE, especially for his outstanding contribution to bringing regulatory reforms in India.
He was associated with the Epic Group where he was responsible for its group legal and company secretary function. With over 100 employees working at its corporate office in Hong Kong and more than 25,000 employees across the globe working in its factories, Epic Group owns and operates large state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Jordan producing readymade garments for its own brands and many global brands like Walmart, Amazon, H&M, Uniqlo.
Prior to joining Epic Group, Taher was heading legal and company secretary for H&M (India) where he was part of the team who launched H&M in India with great success and was responsible for making strong legal processes, Standard Operating Procedures, and implementing IT-enabled solution for ensuring compliance with statutory requirements which are complex due to their nature and difference for various parts of India.
He was associated with Croma, an omnichannel retailer, since the inception/launch of its flagship store in India heading its legal & company secretary function.
He was a member of the ‘Retail Committee of FICCI’ and the ‘Advocacy Committee of the Retailers Association of India’.
His professional expertise includes compliance management, contract management, regulatory affairs, merger, amalgamation, bankruptcy laws, economic legislations, intellectual property rights, criminal laws, labor laws, litigation, and dealing with various government departments, ministries, Prime Minister's office to bring regulatory reforms as part of Indian government's efforts towards ease of doing business.
Having obtained a first-class degree in commerce in 1998, Taher became a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India in 2001. He followed this with a degree in law in the year 2003.
Farhat (‘She’) has more than ten years of experience as a Company Secretary both in India and offshore. She is also associated with Parikh & Associates, one of the leading company secretarial Firms of Mumbai, where she is contributing her professional services for managing the Company law matters of various clients which includes Listed Companies, Public Limited Companies and Private Companies including Joint ventures and Limited Liability Partnerships.
She was associated with BlueMeg (Hong Kong) Limited as a Company Secretary, where she was managing the Company Secretarial, Legal and Taxation matters of about 100 plus companies both in Hong Kong and offshore.
Her professional expertise includes managing all the Compliances of the listed/private companies ie. Filing of various information to Stock Exchange under New Listing Regulations, Preparation of Annual Reports of the companies, the Compliances related to Securities and Exchange Board of India, Conducting and complying with all the formalities of Quarterly Meetings of Board of Directors and the General Meeting of Shareholders, the Secretarial Audit under new Companies Act 2013 required for companies having paid up capital prescribed, Scrutiny of Postal Ballots and Preparation of Report thereon for the resolutions passed under postal Ballot Rules, Incorporation of new company and all formalities related to this, Convening and holding the Board Meeting and General Meetings, Conversion of public company into private company, Rights Issue, Bonus Issue, Private Placements, Compliance of Companies Act in preparation of Final Accounts and other secretarial matters.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in commerce 2001 and obtained membership of Institute of Company Secretaries of India in 2006.
